Welcome The University of Alabama School of Social Work faculty and staff extend you a warm welcome! Our alumni are serving clients here in Alabama, across the U.S., and across the world. The school has been preparing MSW's since 1965 and is ranked in the top 30 among public universities in the nation by U.S. News and World Reports. We seek to increase our students' knowledge of social problems and their solutions, to improve social conditions of the state and beyond, and to promote social justice and human dignity for all people.
Program Options The School of Social Work, through the College of Continuing Studies, offers students the opportunity to begin their MSW coursework through two options designed to facilitate distance education: the Advanced-Standing DE (one year) Program (available in Gadsden, Mobile, and Montgomery, for those who hold a CSWE-accredited BSW) and the Two-Year DE Program (available in Tuscaloosa, Gadsden, Mobile, and Montgomery). Advanced-Standing DE Program (Requires a BSW) Gadsden - Starts every other year in June - 2010, 2012, 2014, etc. Mobile & Montgomery - Starts every other year in June - 2009, 2011, 2013, etc.
Two-Year DE Program (Saturday First Year) Tuscaloosa - Starts every year in June Gadsden - Starts every other year in June - 2009, 2011, 2013, etc. Mobile & Montgomery - Starts every other year in June - 2010, 2012, 2014, etc.
